Announcements and Updates

February 2026:

2026 District Projects

At the January 26th Board meeting the Board approved the Ehler improvement project which includes new plantings, trees, mulch, and seeding the native areas. The area for this project is Uinta going West to Quebec on Ehler. As this project begins and progresses, we will send out email updates to the community.

Heritage Dr. will be mill and overlayed in 2026 from the Yosemite entrance through the Uinta intersection. There will also be additional areas of asphalt and concrete work in areas to be done at the same time. A map and notice of the dates for this project will be sent out to residents via email once the dates for the project have been confirmed.

Tips for Residents for Walking:

For residents walking in the dark in Thornton, maximizing visibility and awareness is crucial for safety. Key tips include wearing bright or reflective clothing, carrying a flashlight or headlamp, and sticking to well-lit, familiar routes. Always walk facing traffic and avoid distractions like phones or headphones to stay alert.

Visibility and Gear

  • Wear Bright/Reflective Gear: Use vests, neon clothing, or, at minimum, light-colored clothing.
  • Use Active Lighting: Carry a flashlight, use a headlamp, or clip LED lights to backpacks/jackets.

And a friendly reminder from your District: The speed limit within the community is 25MPH and vehicles, including golf carts, are to stop at stop signs. Golf carts are not permitted on sidewalks. You may review the golf cart policy on our website.

Traffic Light at Quebec Entrance
At this time we do not have an update on the installation of the traffic light installation on Quebec and Heritage Dr./152nd Ave. You may reach out to the City of Thornton with questions regarding this installation.

Gate Access

Have a guest visiting or a ride coming to pick you up after the gates close? Please reach out to Melissa K. to obtain your Directory number and instructions for ‘guest’ access after 9:00 PM and before 5:00 AM. If you receive a call from one of the gates to let a ‘guest’ in, one of the following phone numbers will show up on your caller ID: 720-429-3420, 720-369-8694, 970-396-2278.
The two new pedestrian gates along Yosemite have been installed and are available for use. These gates take the same key that the other pedestrian gates use. You have to lock the gate when closing it after use, they do not lock automatically. Need a gate transmitter, gate code, or a pedestrian gate key? Contact Melissa Kupferer at 303-482-2213 ext. 283 or email her at Melissa.Kupferer@advancehoa.com. Gate transmitters are $40 each, billed to your District account. Deliveries typically go out on Mondays, excluding holidays.

Thanks for helping keep our community running smoothly!
